International Team Meetings, OHNE, Comic Book Stores, Hackney Arts Centre & Wine in a Can (B+A Bulletin #142)

Happy Wednesday, folks.

Having a great week so far?

Everything is going well here at B+A. Andrew has just landed back from his trip in San Fransisco, and as you can see in the pic above, Ben is still representing the B+A team hard in Portland, Oregon. Still, nothing stops the gang from having our weekly team meeting, every Tuesday, no matter where we are in the world. Cute, init?

This week I (Andre) will be showing you all things weird and wonderful on the interwebs.

Bulletin #142. Let’s get it cracking.

B+A Brilliance

This week Nic’s giving air-time to business-owners Nikki and Leah who she met during a recent project: “These two, inspiring boss females that are on a mission to shake up the menstruation industry. Driven by a passion for women’s health, they founded OHNE, a subscription-model based organic tampon service, to make our lives easier and safer. Plus they do a HEAP of social good. I love them. Period. ;)”

B+A Books etc.

Just back from Oakland (where he was kicking off a project with our new friends at vsco) Andrew got to visit the famous Dr Comics & Mr Games Store on Piedmont. It was the store where, famously, a young Ryan Cooler walked in and asked “Have you got any comics about black superheroes” and was introduced to Black Panther. The rest, as they say, was his-story!

B+A Big Up

Our newest team member Abi gave a sneak peak of one of her “side projects” this week, a (HUMUNGOUS) derelict arc deco building in the middle of Hackney. It’s currently called the Hackney Arts Centre, and is brought to you by the good folks that gave us the Village Underground. Besides the bird droppings all over the gaff, the place is beautiful, and will most probably be the go-to spot for all things arts and culture by the end of the year. You heard it here first. Keep your eyes peeled for updates.

B+A Babble

Ben recently shared with us The Uncommon Urban Winery, a company that makes “really good English wine, in cans”. It’s low sugar, poured into 100% endlessly recyclable packaging, and is made within 20 miles radius of London. What’s not to love? They are currently running an Indiegogo funding page to produce their next round of cans. Have a look and let us know your thoughts!

Bonus info: The director of their funding video also directed our B+A badges film. Aye!

B+A Bye…

Run a bath, drink herbal tea, light a candle.

It’s a vibe.
Andre and Team B+A
