B+A Breaking

Hullo pals. Did you know you’re radiant today?

B+A London calling, led as ever by your man Luke. Here with the juiciest juice since the Moderna vaccine.

Kicking off with a lil welcome to our latest recruit, Solana, who joins us as intern for a few months. Solana is a 2020 graduate from Samsung Not a School, and has been delivering wisdom way beyond her years since her B+A day dot. Keep an eye out for more from her as the weeks and months roll on!

Now, onto the rest of it. Bulletin #273, cooked to perfection.

B+A Brilliance

We begin with another Strong Female Lead from the B+A family. Tesa Aragones has been a partner in crime for us across more projects than Andrew would care to remember, including several current deep-dives into the wonderful world(s) of Discord.

Tesa is the featured guest on the excellent podcast There Is No Finish Line, dropping gem after gem as she reflects on her massive career to date, her approach to life, work and what really matters. Listen here, and meet the dictionary (re)definition of dulcitude.

B+A Books etc

This month’s book club meetup really left its mark. We’ve each been immersing ourselves in the beautiful world of adrienne maree brown – initially through her book Emergent Strategy, and for several of us also through her podcasts and articles too. And we’re converts. Emergent Strategy feels like a totally new approach to gathering, sharing and archiving ideas, deliberately raw and malleable. I know, I know, we’re always out here with the recommendations – but this one should jump straight to the top of your reading list. K?

B+A Babble

18 months ago, in the days of multi-city research trips at a moment’s notice, you might have spotted Ben, Mo and Tamika scampering around New York City, Paris and Shanghai with a few discreet bags of previously unseen sneakers. Well, now we can finally come clean. We were doing (one example of) what we do best: gathering those golden consumer insights and feedback – this time on a nifty new footwear innovation from our good friends at Nike. And yesterday, it launched to the world: Nike GO FlyEase.

Got to love it when a plan comes together.

B+A Big Up

Oh jeez. What intro can do justice?

Our very own Adesuwa is now the host of her very own radio show, courtesy of Charlie Dark and the RunDemRadio crew. The Oya Let’s Chat Show debuted on Sunday with special guest Neelam Keshwala, and going forwards you can catch her 1-2pm, the last Sunday of each and every month. (Dw, we’ll give you a nudge.)

Go on. Tune in to our most charismatic teamie, showing us all the way.

B+A Bye…

Yesterday marked the midpoint between the shortest day in December, and the Spring equinox in March (aka the Celtic festival of Imbolc and the end of winter).

This time next week the sun will be consistently setting after 5pm in the UK.

Can you feel the tide changing?

Lots of love,
Luke + Team B+A
